UCLUB was created to aid the children of Northern Uganda by raising money and awareness. UCLUB is a fund raising site and not a charity itself. All proceeds will be donated to Athletes for Africa through GuluWalks online. Athletes for Africa is a registered charity.
Dear Friend,
Every day that goes by I am grateful for all the gifts our universe has given me. I live a joyful and fulfilling life in a great country. Living in North America I have access to healthy foods, clean drinking water, education and the freedom to follow my dreams. I do not face constant discrimination, nor am I judged by my gender, ethnicity, religious beliefs or lack thereof. However, there are members of our global community that are not able to fulfill these same fundamental needs.
My life changed for the better when I accepted the simple fact that I was blessed. It is then that I realized it was my duty to help my global family by sharing some of my time, effort and wealth. I started donating 10% of my freelance projects outside my 9-5 job to GuluWalk, a not for profit organization. Although it brought me much happiness to know that I was donating, I felt that I wasn’t doing enough. I created this website to raise both money and awareness for the neglected children of Northern Uganda, because I believe everyone in our global community should have access to the same resources and luxuries.
If you cannot afford to donate at this time, I understand. Many of us are in debt, struggling and just trying to get by. That doesn’t mean you can’t help. Although monetary donations would get us closer to our financial goal (even a dollar!), there are many other things you can do to help. Spread the word, pass along this website to others, educate yourself on what’s happening, send out a quick e-mail of encouragement, or simply say a small prayer in your heart and wish us luck. Any small contribution of time or money will help the overall goal. And, by doing so, you join the club.
